1993
DEKTRADE s.r.o. is established in Prague, in the spring of 1993. Since then it focuses on distribution and consulting in the field of insulation materials. In cooperation with The Expert and Consulting Office KUTNAR – Building Insulations, it organizes two seminars intended for those interested in new modified bitumen membranes. Also in this year we publish the first catalogue of technical solutions using bitumen membranes. By the end of this year DEKTRADE has 3 employees and its sales of 200 thousand m2 of weldable bitumen membranes put it among the most important distributors of these materials.
1994
This year DEKTRADE opens a branch in Ostrava and newly brings to market brands of modified bitumen membranes ELASTEK and GLASTEK. By the end of 1994 it employs 7 people and is one of the most important suppliers of bitumen membranes in the Czech Republic with achieved sales of 900 thousand m2 weldable bitumen membranes.
1995
DEKTRADE opens a branch in Ústí nad Labem and organizes a seminar in Ostrava, concentrating on the usage of modified bitumen membranes. The company also widens its assortment by offering high quality bitumen shingles IKO and thermal insulation based on mineral fibers NOBASIL. From a distributor and consultant focused solely on bitumen membranes the company becomes a wide-ranged supplier of construction materials. By the end of the year DEKTRADE has 9 employees.
1996
DEKTRADE opens branches in Liberec, Sokolov, České Budějovice, Brno and Olomouc and organizes seminars on developing insulation structures in Praha and Ústí nad Labem. The product range grows again to offer most insulation materials used in the building industry. By the end of this year DEKTRADE employs 33 people.
1997
DEKTRADE opens branches in Hradec Králové and Plzeň. It organizes a lecture tour aimed at the development of insulation structures in Praha, Ostrava, Liberec, České Budějovice, Sokolov, Brno and Olomouc. The technical department is created as an independent division of DEKTRADE with the goal to give our customer better support in designing and building of insulation solutions. By the end of 1997 DEKTRADE has 48 employees.
1998
DEKTRADE founds an independent center called BUILDING INSULATION STUDIO, which takes over all consulting and advisory services offered by the technical department for materials supplied by DEKTRADE. It also concentrates on all problems connected to building insulations and building physics regardless of materials used. For the first time DEKTRADE organizes a spring lecture tour aimed at the development of insulation structures in Praha, Ostrava, Liberec, Hradec Králové, Ústí nad Labem, Sokolov, Plzeň, České Budějovice, Brno and Olomouc. This series of lectures has more than 2000 attendees. DEKTRADE begins to run its own trucking transportation to be able to deliver insulation materials all the way to a construction site for overhead cost. By the end of the year the company employs 60 people.
1999
DEKTRADE again organizes its lecture tour focused on the development of insulation structures in Praha, Ostrava, Liberec, Hradec Králové, Ústí nad Labem, Sokolov, Plzeň, České Budějovice, Brno, Olomouc, Zlín and Jihlava, with over 2000 participants. The company also organizes ten practical trainings in the locations of its branches on the laying of PVC membranes ALKORPLAN. This year we probably become the largest distributor of insulation materials for the building industry in the Czech Republic. The price list of DEKTRADE now includes more than 6,000 items and our customers can find here everything they need to make both traditional and unusual insulation structures. By the end of the year DEKTRADE has 80 employees.
2000
We organize another lecture tour focusing on the development of insulation structures in Praha, Ostrava, Liberec, Hradec Králové, Ústí nad Labem, Sokolov, Plzeň, České Budějovice, Brno, Olomouc, Zlín and Jihlava. The number of participants again tops 2000. The company opens the first distribution depot in Hradec Králové with an assortment specializing in materials for sloping roofs – Ráj střech. On January 1st DEKTRADE introduces a new, more efficient computer system, to make the buying easier for our customers and to improve and speed up the intra-company communication to satisfy our customers' requests as fast as possible. DEKTRADE employs 99 people.
2001
DEKTRADE again increases the number of offered products. Among others, it becomes an important distributor of natural slate from Spain, and top-quality burnt roof tiles from the company ERLUS. We start selling products of APP, offering a complete system for roof gardens. The lecture tour Roofs & Insulations 2001 traditionally takes place in 12 towns in the Czech Republic. DEKTRADE participates in trade shows: IBF Brno, Střechy Praha, Střechy pláště izolace Ostrava. We organize the first courses of our "Slater-school" using natural slate. Another Ráj střech is opened, this time in Olomouc. Our company employs 130 people and its turnover reaches a record high of 940 mil. CZK.
2002
DEKTRADE receives the ISO 9001 certificate. We participate again in the following trade shows: IBF Brno, Střechy Praha, Střechy pláště izolace Ostrava. The traditional lecture tour Roofs & Insulations 2002 takes place again in 12 towns in the Czech Republic. The “Slater-school” organizes 5 courses in the laying of natural slate. DEKTRADE also organizes in its branches practical trainings in the laying of PVC membranes ALKORPLAN and modified bitumen membranes ELASTEK a GLASTEK. We open another Ráj střech in České Budějovice. Two new branches are opened: in Zlín and Jihlava and two warehouses in Pardubice and Praha Zličín. Our company’s turnover reaches 1,202 mil. CZK.
2003
DEKTRADE again expands its offered range, this time by products from its new production center DEKMETAL. It participates in trade shows IBF Brno, Střechy Praha, Střechy pláště izolace Ostrava. The traditional lecture tour Roofs & Insulations 2003 takes place again in 12 towns in the Czech Republic. DEKTRADE organizes in its branches practical trainings in the laying of PVC membranes ALKORPLAN and modified bitumen membranes ELASTEK and GLASTEK. In Bratislava we open our first branch in Slovakia. The company employs 280 people and the turnover reaches 1,600 mil. CZK.
2004
After 4 years of hard work DEKTRADE becomes the largest distributor of roofing for sloping roofs in the Czech Republic. Within the company we single out an independent team of experts in façade and insulation systems. We bring to the market DEKTHERM products (façade insulation system), DEKSTONE products (natural stone products), DEKTEN (diffusion roofing membranes), MAXIDEK (large-scale roofing tiles) and WINLIGHT (economical roof windows). We participate in trade shows IBF Brno, Střechy Praha, Střechy pláště izolace Ostrava and Coneco in Bratislava. The traditional lecture tour Roofs & Insulations 2004 takes place again in 12 towns in the Czech Republic and in Bratislava. The company opens two distribution depots in Opava and Strakonice. The number of employees reaches 400 and the turnover is over 2 bil. CZK.
2005
This year is again the most successful year in the company’s history. The number of employees reaches almost 450 and the turnover increases to 2.45 bil. CZK. Again, in the background of these achievements there are mainly the consistent effort to satisfy the needs of our customers, the quality of supplied products and also the ever-growing technical support, represented by the newly launched program DEKPARTNER. This year we also begin publishing our own specialized monthly - DEKTIME. The company opens distribution depots in Svitavy and Karlovy Vary in the Czech Republic. In Slovakia we open three warehouses: in Žilina, Banská Bystrica and Košice. We participate in trade shows IBF Brno, Střechy Praha, Střechy pláště izolace Ostrava and Coneco in Bratislava. The lecture tour Roofs & Insulations 2005 takes place again in 12 towns in the Czech Republic and newly in four towns in Slovakia.
2006
DEKTRADE a.s. strengthens its dominant market position in the roofing, façade and insulation building materials. We enrich our product range among others by DEKWOOD (mainly construction lumber), tools and equipment DEKTOOL, bitumen primer DEKPRIMER and the system of above-the-rafter insulation TOPDEK. DEKTIME becomes a stable part in the mosaic of services provided, as the imposing number of 31,000 monthly copies shows. The network of branches in the Czech Republic includes Hodonín, Česká Lípa, Trutnov, Pelhřimov and Praha-Kunratice. In Slovakia we add branches in Trenčín, Trnava and Poprad. The lecture tour Roofs & Insulations 2006 takes place again in 12 towns in the Czech Republic and in 8 towns in Slovakia. Noteworthy is also our participation in the Slovak trade show Coneco in Bratislava. The total turnover of DEKTRADE rises to the record high of 3.5 bil. CZK and the number of employees comes close to 550.
2007
In 2007 whole DEKTRADE company is being transformed into DEK holding; manufactures and service centres are separated into independent units. Controlling company DEK is 100% owner of all four affiliated companies: DEKPROJEKT, DEKMETAL, DEKSTONE and DEKWOOD. Moreover, DEKTRADE itself is divided into 4 divisions: DEKTRADE (materials for roofs, facades and insulation), DEKTON (dry construction, building filling, building chemistry), DEKSTAVIVA (materials for carcassing) and DEKWOOD (building timber). Due to huge investments into development and extension of our sortiment, our turnover has grown 56% in comparison with the year before to more than 200 million euro.
2008
The Slovak inventories, which had formed part of the company DEKTRADE a.s, organizačná zložka, were transferred to the newly established company DEKTRADE SR s.r.o. as of 1 January 2008.
At the beginning of the year, new branches of DEKTRADE were established in Chomutov, Beroun, České Budějovice, Opava and Liberec. In the Slovak Republic, branches were set-up in Prievidza, Martin, Lučenec, Michalovce and Liptovský Mikuláš.
All the companies within the Group have been sending invoices and other documents to their customers electronically since January 2008. During the same year, the Company started to receive invoices and other documentation from its major suppliers in EDI format, whereby the processing of received documentation became significantly faster.
The „STŘECHY | FASÁDY | IZOLACE 2008“ seminars were held in twelve cities in the Czech Republic and twelve cities in the Slovak Republic during January and February 2008. These seminars usually cater to the needs of designers, building companies, investors and other people interested in the area of building insulation and construction physics. These seminars are just as acclaimed now as they were in the past.
DEK took part in a set of specialised exhibitions under the name “Pragobuilding 2008” with its projects DEKVITAL and DEKHOME. DEK was represented by three display stalls at the International Building Fair in Brno. DEKTRADE SR and DEKSTONE represented our Group at the Coneco fair in Bratislava. Our branches in Liberec were presented to visitors at the exhibition “Dům a zahrada Liberec“. DEKTRADE participated as a partner in the project “Šetřím energii“ (I save energy), aimed at customers of the company RWE.
During the year, the company G SERVIS CZ, the largest supplier of standardised projects of family houses, was successfully acquired.
In the second quarter of 2008, the strategy of the whole Group was significantly changed. The strategy of expansion was modified to reflect the approaching economic crisis. A huge amount of effort went into creating savings and optimising measures. All the companies within the Group started focusing on projects profitable in the short-run.
The autumn of 2008 saw the restructuring of organisational structures in the regions of DEKTRADE a.s. CR, whereby smaller regions were joined together. The management of these regions now comprises seven regional directors.
